Stevens v. State, No. 02-22-00247-CV (Dec. 15, 2022) (Walker, J., joined by Womack and Bassel, JJ.).
Held: Appellant, a newly elected constable, substantially complied with Section 86.0021(b) of the Local Government Code when he provided documentary evidence of his permanent peace officer licensing to the county judge, thus fulfilling the purpose of the statute to notify the county commissioners court that he held the requisite licensing.
