Justice McCray obtained his B.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1986, and his Juris Doctor degree from St. Mary's University School of Law in 1990. He was Board Certified in Criminal Law in 1997 by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Justice McCray has practiced as a trial and appeal attorney in Texas courts for 34 years including service as lead prosecutor for both the Grayson County Attorney’s Office and the Bexar County District Attorney’s office. He was born and raised in Beaumont, Texas, is an Eagle Scout, and has resided in San Antonio since 1987.
