Associate General Counsel

Ms. Tomlin was the first staff member of the Texas Forensic Science Commission, hired in the summer of 2008.  Currently, Ms. Tomlin serves as the Associate General Counsel to the Commission. In her role as Associate General Counsel, Ms. Tomlin provides legal counsel to the Commission on a broad array of administrative and governmental legal issues that assist the Commission in achieving its legislative mandate of forensic oversight in Texas. Ms. Tomlin also manages the Commission’s crime laboratory accreditation and forensic analyst licensing programs, makes policy recommendations and develops administrative rulemakings related to the Commission's investigative, accreditation and forensic analyst licensing authority. 

Ms. Tomlin received a BA in Business Administration from Texas State University in 2005 and an MA in Legal Studies in 2006.  She obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law in May 2015 and is licensed to practice law in Texas.  Tomlin is a current member of the American Academy of Forensic Science's Jurisprudence section.
